The introduction of Laser Cutting technology has revolutionised the Sheet metal and Fabrication industry and rockPRESS have been at the fore front in embracing this industry changing phenomenon.
These computer controlled machines offer a flexibility and range of options that we could only dream about just a few years ago. The cutting action is performed by the combined use of Oxygen, Nitrogen and compressed air and provides not only incredible accuracy in cutting but also is burr free and leaves a very small heat affected zone.
A very wide range of materials can be handled, mild steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium and zinc coated sheet metal from a thickness of 0.45mm to 20mm in mild, carbon and stainless steels and up to 12mm in aluminium.
There are tremendous advantages available from the use of this process. No burrs means no clean up, complete accuracy which is absolutely repeatable and the ability to cut any shape that can be drawn down to miniscule dimensions.
The possibilities are endless and the fact that the operating instructions are provided by a computer programme means that it can be saved and repeated as many times as required with absolute accuracy.
